Not Receiving Emails From Outside Gannon: Emails going to Quarantine

Description

Are you not receiving emails from outside Gannon emails or, are your emails showing up in your quarantine emails from Microsoft? 


Resolution/Troubleshooting

Checking quarantined emails:

  1.  Navigate to https://security.microsoft.com/quarantine
  2.  Sign into Office 365 using your work or school account
  3. On the left, expand "Threat Management"
    • Select "Review"
    • Select "Quarantine"

Check to see if the email is on the blocked Senders list:

  1. Navigate to office.com 
  2. Click on the gear icon, in the top right corner, to bring up the settings
    • If you are on the welcome page, you will need to click on the Outlook Icon from the left panel first.
  3. Type in “Blocked senders and domains” in the search bar.
  4. Look in the list of blocked email addresses and see if the email address is listed.
    • If it is listed in that section, remove it.
  5. Click "save".

Adding to the "Safe senders and Domains" list:

  1. Go to the section labeled "safe sender and domains", under the same page as the blocked senders.
    1. Add the email address to that list if it is not already.
  2. Click "save".

Checking for any rules that may have been created to send emails to junk:

  1. Navigate to office.com 
  2. Click on the gear icon, in the top right corner, to bring up the settings
    • If you are on the welcome page, you will need to click on the Outlook Icon from the left panel first.
  3. Type in “rules” into the search bar
    • It should bring up a list of all the rules you have for your emails.
  4. Look through the list of rules (if there is any), if there is one that says to go someplace you don’t want it to delete it.
