No Print Jobs in Queue When printing from Gannon-Owned Device (non Macs)

Description

When printing from a Gannon-owned computer, users swipe their card or enters their login at the printer there is no jobs listed in the print queue. Possible errors when you check the print queue like the job being "Paused" or "Access Denied"


Resolution/Troubleshooting 

Removing print jobs from the queue:

  1. Navigate to the "Printers & scanners" section in your Windows settings 
    1. Click on the "Print-N-Go on papercut-erie" from the printer list
      1. Select "open queue"
  2. When the print queue comes up, click on the "owner" tab to sort the queue.
    1. Find your network ID on the list 
      1. Select all of your print jobs and delete them.
  3. Test a print job

Push GPUpdate:

  1. Navigate to the Windows start button 
    1. Type in "cmd" or "command prompt" into the search bar 
      1. Select "run as administrator"
    2. Type in "gpupdate /force" and hit enter.
  2. When that finishes, Reboot the computer
  3. Test a print job

Note: This can not be done on vpn, off campus. You will need to be on campus.​​​​​​​
Uninstalling and re-installing the printer:

Note: When you remove the printer it might not get physically removed from the printer list on your computer.

  1. Navigate to the "Printers & scanners" section in your Windows settings 
    • Click on the "Print-N-Go on papercut-erie" from the printer list
    • Select "remove device"
  2. Reboot the machine, it will try to re-install the printer for you.

  4. Test a print job
