What is Microsoft's Power Platform at Gannon University
The power platform allows users to:
- Automate processes
- Build solutions
- Analyze data
The Power Platform (as of 2-2-23) consists of 3 major components:
- Power Apps
- Power Automate (formerly Flow)
- Power BI
Gannon has 5 Environments: ( A Power Platform environment is a space to store, manage, and share your organization's apps, chatbots, and flows)
- Sandbox – dev (The default) anyone can build here
- Test- for testing before moving to production
- Development - for development of special projects
- Production - Business critical solutions. Migration and ownership are done with a service account.
- Coe - Center of Excellence for analictics and management of the entire power platform
All employees and students have access to the default environment.
Power Apps (Forms and APP builder)
- A no or low-code application development tool
- Proceed with caution as ITS does not support development or use of custom apps/solutions

Power Automate (Workflow builder)
- Allows you to connect different systems together and take that data and translate it

Power BI (analytics tools)
- Creating dashboards in real time.
- Reports
- Gain insight regardless of where your data lives
