Respondus LockDown Browser: Installation

Description

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within a learning management system to prevent cheating during exams.


More Information

  • Respondus LockDown Browser cannot be installed on personally-owned Chromebooks. The Chromebook app requires the Chromebook be run in kiosk mode and managed via an organization's Google Admin Suite. Gannon does not supply Chromebooks or manage any via the Google Admin Suite. 

Resolution/Troubleshooting

Installing LockDown Browser on Laptops:

  1. Visit gannon.blackboard.com
  2. Select 'Blackboard Help Tab Modules', in the helpful links section on the institution page tab under "Helpful Links" section.
  3. Click on the 'Respondus Help - Student' option.
    • Click ‘Get the Gannon University LockDown Browser HERE’ link.

NOTE: Firefox will require you to open your list of downloads to open the file. Google Chrome will provide a clickable button along the bottom to open the file.
