Network Password - Update or Reset

Description

If you need to change/update your password visit https://my.gannon.edu and follow one of the two methods listed below. 

Off-campus when changing passwords, see instructions below on how to synchronize the change, or click here for more information.

If you are at a Gannon University workstation and cannot log into the workstation to get to the portal page and cannot access any other device to reach the my.gannon.edu self-service links on the portal please call the ITS Help Desk for assistance.

Resolution/Troubleshooting

Change My Password (Web-Part inside of my.gannon.edu):

  1. Log into my.gannon.edu
  2. Scroll down to “Account/Password Management" under "Need Help?" on the right-side panel 
  3. Click on the "Change Password Portal" under the "Once SSPR has been completed to change your password visit the password change portal:"

Or 

  1. Go to https://accountmgt.gannon.edu/
  2. Click on the "Change Password Portal" under the "Once SSPR has been completed to change your password visit the password change portal:"

Reset or Change Your Password (Using Microsoft SSPR):

  1. Visit https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com
  2. Enter your Gannon email address and the automated CAPTCHA image displayed
  3. Select recovery method for account verification
  4. Enter your recovery code and select "Next"
  5. Enter your new password in both the "Enter new password" box and the "Confirm new password" box. Note: Do not cut and paste
  6. Then click "Finish"
    • An email notification is sent to your primary and alternate email address confirming your recent password reset.

Changing Password while off campus (Gannon-owned- Windows):

Once you have changed your password through one of the options above, you will have to do the following to sync your Gannon laptop machine to the new password.

  1. Connect to VPN
  2. Click the command Ctrl-Alt-Delete
  3. Select "lock" to lock your computer
  4. Unlock the computer with the new password
