Outlook Auto-Complete

Description

In Outlook, it is possible to remove one incorrect contact from auto-complete entry that appears when you start to type a contact.

Resolution/Troubleshooting

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Select New Email on the Ribbon
  3. In the TO: box, type the email address you wish to clear from the cache until Outlook displays it
  4. Then Press the down arrow key to select the email address and press the Delete button (or click the X beside their name)
  5. All Done. That entry should now be gone from the Outlook Auto-complete.
  6. Open the Global Address Book and add the recipient from there, or type in the new address completely and it will be saved in your Auto-Complete.

To clear all entries in the Auto-Complete Cache follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the File pull down to Options
  2. Click on Mail
  3. Scroll down to the Send Messages section
  4. Click the Empty Auto-Complete List
  5. Are you sure, click Yes.
  6. Now the history in the Outlook Auto-Complete Cache is empty.
