Microsoft Office and Windows for Home (Employees)

Description

As a part of our partnership with Microsoft and JourneyEd, actively employed Gannon faculty and staff have the legal right to obtain Microsoft software for work-related purposes at a significantly discounted price or for free. 
     

Resolution

Microsoft Office 365 - Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint (FREE)

All Staff & Faculty will receive free access to the Microsoft 365 Office desktop applications.  A help desk request is no longer necessary.

This access allows Staff and Faculty home rights to download from the M365 APP site (https://www.office.com) and install the desktop 365 version of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint on their personal computer.  

  1. Go to www.office.com and log in with your Gannon email address and password.
  2. In the upper right-hand corner, click Install Office
  3. Select Office 365 apps
  4. Click the downloaded Setup...exe file in the bottom-left corner of your browser to download and install.
  5. You can then access the application from your start menu
  6. Right-click on the application icon to pin it to your taskbar or start menu for easy access.

Please be aware of the following:  

  • Download speeds are faster if you are not connected via NetExtender (VPN).
  • You cannot choose individual applications to install.  
  • The download & installation could affect system performance. Try to run it during a time that you aren't doing critical processing.

Windows 10 - Upgrade ($9.95)

If you are looking for Windows 10 upgrade options for your home computer, all employees are eligible for Work at Home licensing for Windows 10 through Gannon’s Microsoft Campus Agreement through JourneyEd. If your home computer meets the hardware requirements to upgrade to Windows 10 you are eligible for the upgrade at a cost of $9.95 - http://www.journeyed.com/select/go/CAGANNON.
