How To Enroll in Self Service Password Reset (SSPR)

Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a Microsoft delivered feature that allows an enrolled user the ability to reset their own password.

1. Open the web browser on your device and go to my.gannon.edu

2.  Enter your Gannon email address.  You will be redirected to the Gannon M365 login page.

3. Enter your Gannon network password.

4.  Configure up to two verification methods for your account.  This gives you flexibility when one of the methods isn't available and ensures access to your account.

NOTE: You will receive a phone call, text or email message while doing setup to verify that this method of communication is working. You will need access to any configured email address or phone during enrollment.

  • Alternative Authentication Phone (call or text): Your cell phone for text or number other than your office phone for call verification if you don't have a cell phone.
  • Alternative Authentication Email: An email address other than your Gannon email

Setting Up "Authentication Phone (call or text)"

  •  Select the “Set it up now” link next to “Authentication Phone”.
  •  Set your Region Code [typically United States(+1)].
  •  Enter Your Phone Number.
  •  Select either the “Text Me” or “Call Me” button to verify the phone number (only one option needs to be completed).

"Text Me" Option

  • Left click on "text me"
  • Enter the code received in a text and select the “Verify” button.
  • If successful, you will be returned to the initial setup screen.

"Call Me" Option

  • Left click on "call me"
  • Answer your phone.
  • When prompted on the phone, press the “#’ key.
  • If successful, you will be returned to the initial setup screen.

Setting up "Authentication Email"

  • Select the "set it up now" link next to "authentication email"
  • Enter an email address other than your Gannon email address
  • Left click on the "email me" button

Enter the verification code received in the verification field and then select the “Verify” button.

5.  Select "Finish" to complete the enrollment.

Note:  It is important to complete this step, or your changes will be lost. Note: You may be prompted for your password again after you select the “finish” button.
