Printing: Supporting Multiple Departments (including Work Studies-GAs)

Description

Gannon allows print accounts to have access to multiple departments.

  • Faculty and Staff have access to unlimited printing through their departments. If an employee supports multiple departments and therefore print materials associated with work for those departments, dual-print accounts can be requested.
  • Students: work-study or graduate assistants need to print materials for their positions without personal student print quota affected.

Resolution/Troubleshooting

Requesting Dual Printing Account:
Have your supervisor complete this ticket which will authorize your PaperCut account for department account printing.  Once your supervisor has performed this authorization please allow 24 hours for your account setup to be complete.

For every print/copy job please execute the below to print and release your print job.  Note: instructions vary depending on what type of device you are operating.

Gannon Owned Computers (non Macs):

  • As stated ITS will push the PaperCut software client to the computer. This will give you the option to choose which account to print from.
  • Print your documents like you normally would and choose the Print-N-Go queue.
  • Select Personal for your default account (Students this will be your quota assigned to you each semester. Faculty/Staff this is your department you were hired in) or choose the Department account where this work should be tracked.
  • Then click Print.
  • Visit any device on campus to swipe your Gannon ID card to release you print job.

Personal Owned Devices (laptops, tablets, and phones) and Gannon Owned Devices without the PaperCut software client installed:

  • Print your documents like you normally would and choose the Print-N-Go queue.
  • Open up a browser and navigate to http://papercut-erie/client and logon with your Gannon Network ID and password.
  • You will be prompted to choose what account you would like to use. (This may take a few seconds to show.)
  • Wait for the screen that tells you the print job has been held in queue. Click Ok.
  • You can now close your browser.
  • Visit any device on campus to swipe your Gannon ID card to release you print job.
  • Note: instructions and screenshots for this option are also attached to this FAQ.
