Trouble with MS Office 365 Apps on Personal Computers

Description

Getting any of the following errors when trying to use the Office 365 desktop apps on personal computers.

Errors:

  • 70003: Device has been deleted 
  • CAA50021
  • Reactivate license/products or License expired 
  • Unable to edit on Mac
  • Loading icon while signing into desktop apps

Resolution/Troubleshooting

Step 1: Sign out of everywhere with the Gannon account

  1. Navigate to office.com.
  2. Select your name/Initials in the upper right corner, then 'View Account'
  3. On the "Overview' tab on the left side panel, select 'Sign out everywhere'.

(Windows Computers) Step 2: Disconnect Gannon account from work or school in Windows settings

  1. Search 'Access work or school' in the Windows search. 
  2. Disconnect the Gannon Account and then reboot the machine. 
  3. Open the office app to sign back in.

(MacBooks) Step 2: Sign out of the office app affected 

  1. Open the office app and select 'sign out' from the top right.   
  2. Select 'Sign out'
  3. Reboot the machine and open the office app to sign back in.
