Microsoft Account vs. Gannon Account

A Microsoft account, formerly known as a Microsoft Live account, is an external account and password you use to sign in to any of these things: 

1. Xbox and Xbox Music 
2. Outlook.com
3. Windows
4. Skype 
5. Find My Phone 
6. OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) 
7. Office 365

This account has no direct relationship to a Gannon email address but when setting up a Microsoft account, you can use your Gannon email account. Modifying a Microsoft account will not interfere with the Gannon.edu account, but it will modify files synced on, or with, your OneDrive account.
